D3HUB Coordination Meeting
During the 9th and 10th of July the D3HUB project partners met at the Andalucía Lab headquarters in Marbella, to discuss the setup of what it will be the future self-sustainable European Competence Centre to support data management in tourism destinations, comprising Destination Management Organizations (DMOs), Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and public-private stakeholders in their data-driven green and digital transition.
In addition to the D3HUB Coordination Meeting, the Tourism of Tomorrow Lab project conference was also held. The Tourism of Tomorrow Lab is a specialized department within NECSTouR, NECSTouR also being a D3HUB project partner, focused on providing data-driven services to its premium members.
Both projects aim to support tourism stakeholders to improve tourism analytics and foster data-driven decision-making, ensuring sustainable benefits, and it was exactly this fact that made the event a truly productive ground for exciting collaborations and innovative ideas, with key decision makers also joining the conversation, including Carlos Arturo Bernal Bergua (Regional Minister of Tourism of Junta de Andalucía), Yolanda de Aguilar (Secretary General for Tourism of Andalusia), Gema del Corral Parra (Head of the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía in Málaga), and others.
The high-level attendance at the two-day coordination meeting seems appropriate given the ambition of Andalusia to host the future European Competence Centre in collaboration with international institutions such as UN Tourism, Eurostat and the OECD.
