Arctur Participates in the European LLMs4EU Project for Multilingual Large Language Models
Arctur is participating in LLMs4EU (Large Language Models for the European Union), a European project funded by the Digital Europe Programme and coordinated by the Alliance for Language Technologies (ALT-EDIC). The project brings together almost 70 partners from 20 countries to strengthen Europe's AI ecosystem by developing multilingual Large Language Models (LLMs) and making them accessible across all EU languages.
Running from March 2025 to February 2028, LLMs4EU focuses on developing and fine-tuning language models for five strategic domains: tourism, public services, science, telecommunications and energy. The project will also develop datasets, evaluation frameworks and supporting resources to facilitate the adoption of trustworthy AI solutions while ensuring compliance with the AI Act, GDPR and intellectual property requirements.
Within the consortium, Arctur leads the Tourism Domain, contributing its expertise in tourism innovation, cultural heritage and artificial intelligence. Together with project partners, Arctur is developing a tourism use case centred on an AI assistant for cultural heritage, exploring how trusted cultural heritage datasets and European language technologies can improve access to reliable information for visitors and support organisations operating in the tourism sector.
Through its participation in LLMs4EU, Arctur contributes to the development of multilingual AI technologies that reflect European values, foster linguistic and cultural diversity, and strengthen Europe's capabilities in trustworthy artificial intelligence.
