Exploring Digital Resilience and Data-Driven Tourism at the TREADS Multiplier Event

25. 2. 2026 / Project announcements From digital security to smart destination management, the fourth TREADS multiplier event showcased how digital resilience is shaping the future of sustainable tourism.

On 24 February, the fourth multiplier event of the TREADS project took place in Portorož, bringing together more than 70 participants to explore key topics related to digital security and data management in tourism. The event was organized by Arctur in collaboration with the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for tourism professionals, researchers, and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge and discuss the growing importance of digital resilience in the tourism sector.

During the event, Nataša Hribernik from Arctur presented the TREADS project, highlighting its key achievements and introducing the upcoming training programmes on digital resilience and digital security. These programmes are designed to help organizations and individuals strengthen their digital capabilities and prepare for the increasing cybersecurity and data management challenges facing the tourism industry.

Participants also attended an engaging presentation by Vesna Kobal from Arctur on the smart use of data in destination management. The session demonstrated how data-driven tools and analytical approaches can support better-informed decision-making and contribute to the long-term sustainability of tourism destinations.

The event encouraged valuable discussions among participants and reinforced the importance of strengthening digital skills and digital security awareness across the tourism sector. Through practical tools, training opportunities, and real-world examples, the multiplier event highlighted the growing role of digital resilience in shaping the future of sustainable tourism.
