New EXCELLERAT Service Portal is launched!

20. 8. 2020 / Industry The goal of EXCELLERAT project is to enable the European engineering industry to advance towards Exascale technologies and to create a single entry point to services and knowledge for all stakeholders (industrial end-users, ISVs, technology providers, HPC providers, academics, code developers, engineering experts) of HPC for engineering. The Excellerat Service Portal was developed and successfully released. Users can find several useful services on three tailored dashboards dedicated to community, engineers and developers.

Excellerat is a European Centre of Excellence for Engineering Applications. The Centre is an initiative of several European High Performance Computing Centres.

Excellerat brings together key players from industry, research and HPC to provide services that will enable the European engineering industry to advance towards Exascale technologies.

Arctur in collaboration with 12 partners work together on this H2020 project to support several key engineering industries in Europe dealing with complex applications using HPC technologies.

The EXCELLERAT project is a single point of access for expertise on how data management, data analytics, visualisation, simulation-driven design and Co-design with high-performance computing (HPC) can benefit engineering, especially in the aeronautics, automotive, energy and manufacturing sectors.

The Excellerat Service Portal was developed and successfully launched. Users can find here several useful services on three tailored dashboards dedicated to community, engineers and developers.

  • The community dashboard is dedicated to all who have a general interest in the future of engineering or want to know more about the project activities and success stories. Within this dashboard, information on events and training provided by project partners will be offered. Community users can also reach public materials produced within the project and are well informed about the latest funding opportunities for industrial projects and Proof of concepts.
  • Engineer dashboard is developed for engineers (industrial end-users), who face exciting engineering challenges. Here engineers can find success stories and use cases, which can help engineers to tackle similar challenges. Within Excellerat, some popular software codes were improved and are free-accessible, and some new tools and datasets for exchange are available on the Portal too. Engineers can shift their knowledge by participating in events, webinars and events, which are offered.
  • The developer dashboard is meant for (code) developers and experts who update engineering software. They can find on this dashboard industrial use cases and best practices materials which will support their development effort. Application codes are the core of Excellerat projects and are accessible through the portal (AVBP, Alya, CODA, FEniCS, NEK5000, PAAKAT, TPLS, UQiT, Vistle). All developers can participate in training and can reach consulting topics.

The setup of EXCELLERAT complements the current activities of each HPC centre involved and enables the development of next-generation engineering applications. The aim of EXCELLERAT is to support the engineering community at a level that no single HPC provider can.
