ORSI Surgical AI & Telesurgery Days 2025
From 27 February to 1 March 2025, the ORSI Innotech Surgical AI & Telesurgery Days brought together clinicians, engineers and technology developers in Ghent, Belgium, to explore the growing role of artificial intelligence in surgery. The CLASSICA project was represented through contributions from Ronan A. Cahill, MD, the project’s coordinator, and Samo Eržen from Arctur.
During the Surgical Scene Understanding session on 27 February, Ronan A. Cahill (University College Dublin) delivered a presentation titled “Pushing the role of fluorescence through AI,” which incorporated elements of ongoing CLASSICA research. The session was divided into four parts and drew an audience of around 300 participants.
On the final day of the event, 1 March 2025, Samo Eržen presented the CLASSICA Project during the Academic Talks session. Around 150 attendees followed seven research presentations, and Samo provided a live hands-on demonstration for participants. The session attracted a diverse group of medical professionals, engineers and industry representatives.
